Términos del servicio

Effective date: May 10, 2026

🇺🇸 English-language original. These Terms of Service are published in English. Any translation that may appear elsewhere on the Service is provided for convenience only and has no legal effect. In the event of any discrepancy, ambiguity, or conflict between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.

Plain-English summary: Forwrd turns long URLs into short links. Free links don't need an account. Paid plans add tracking, editing, and custom suffixes. Don't use Forwrd for anything illegal or harmful. We provide the Service "as is" with limited liability. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA.

By accessing or using forwrd.us (the "Service"), you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"), which form a binding legal agreement between you and the operator of the Service ("Forwrd", "we", "us", "our"). The Service is operated from Beaufort, South Carolina, United States. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Forwrd is a URL-shortening service that lets anyone create a short link that redirects to a destination URL. Free short links can be created anonymously. Registered accounts (free and paid) gain additional features such as click statistics, the ability to edit destinations, and — for Pro accounts — custom path-based prefixes (e.g. forwrd.us/yourname/launch) and an ad-free experience.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If applicable law in your country of residence imposes a higher minimum age for online services, you must also meet that age. You are solely responsible for compliance with the law of the jurisdiction from which you access the Service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to create, host, or distribute short links that: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or other rights; (c) point to malware, phishing pages, scams, fraudulent schemes, or other deceptive content; (d) point to sexually exploitative material involving minors, terrorist content, or content that incites violence against individuals or groups; (e) bypass, attempt to bypass, or facilitate the bypassing of any technical limitation, rate limit, security control, or access control of the Service; (f) generate or distribute spam, including unsolicited bulk messaging; (g) overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or anyone else's use of it. You are solely responsible for the destination URLs you link to and for ensuring you have all rights necessary to do so.

3a. Zero-tolerance: phishing and fake forms

The following are strictly and permanently forbidden, with no warnings and no second chances:

  • Phishing pages of any kind, including credential harvesters, OAuth-consent abuse, and "session expired" re-login traps.
  • Fake login screens impersonating banks, card issuers, payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, MobilePay, Klarna, Vipps, Swish, etc.), e-mail providers, social networks, cryptocurrency exchanges or wallets, government tax / postal / police / immigration agencies, parcel carriers (PostNord, DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc.), or any other brand or institution.
  • Fake forms that collect personal data, ID-document scans, payment-card details, one-time codes, MFA tokens, recovery phrases, or any credential — whether on a third-party page or on a page that imitates a legitimate service.
  • "Look-alike" or homograph domains, typosquats, and any URL crafted to deceive users about the true destination.
  • Affiliate cloaking that hides a phishing or scam destination behind a benign-looking preview.

Links matching the above are blocked at creation time by an automated abuse shield and, if discovered after the fact, are permanently disabled and the responsible account is terminated. We may share confirmed phishing data with browser safe-browsing partners, payment providers, and law enforcement.

4. Moderation & Disabling Links

Because short links can be created anonymously, we reserve the right — but assume no obligation — to disable or remove any short link at any time, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that it violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of any third party, or if we receive a credible abuse report. Disabled links return a notice page instead of redirecting. We may also retain disabled links and their metadata for fraud prevention, legal, and accounting purposes.

5. Accounts & Security

You may create a free account using your name, email address, and a password. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at abuse@forwrd.us if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Paid Plans, Renewals & Refunds

We offer two paid annual plans: Tracker (US$9.99/year) and Pro (US$19.99/year). Plans are billed in advance for a 12-month term and renew automatically at the end of each term unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout where required. You can cancel future renewals at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term, and you retain access to paid features until then.

Refunds. All payments are non-refundable except where required by mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence (for example, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal, which you waive once you start actively using paid features). We may, but are not obligated to, issue good-will refunds at our sole discretion.

Price & feature changes. We may change prices or the features included in any plan at renewal time. Material changes affecting your active plan will be communicated to the email associated with your account at least 30 days before they take effect.

Downgrade or non-payment. If a renewal payment fails or you downgrade to a free plan, custom-suffix Pro links you previously created will continue to redirect, but you will lose the ability to create new custom-suffix links and Pro-tier features such as ad-free redirects.

7. Advertising & Interstitial Page

The Service is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense and similar ad networks. By default, when a visitor follows a free or Tracker-tier short link, they are first shown a brief interstitial page containing one or more ads and a short countdown before being redirected to the destination URL. Pro accounts may disable this interstitial for short links they own; ads may still appear elsewhere on the Service. Ads are served by independent third parties under their own terms; we are not responsible for the content or behavior of ads or advertisers.

8. Your Content & License to Us

You retain all rights to the URLs and any content you submit through the Service. Solely to operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display, transmit, and redirect the destination URLs you submit and the metadata associated with them (such as slug, language, click counts, and timestamps). This license terminates when you delete the relevant short link or close your account, except for backups, fraud-prevention records, and aggregated/anonymized statistics retained as permitted by Section 10.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, content, and the "Forwrd" name and logo, is owned by Forwrd and protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms.

10. Privacy & Statistics

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You acknowledge that the Service logs each click on a short link (timestamp, language, and aggregated information) for the purposes of click statistics, abuse prevention, and Service operation. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be retained indefinitely and used to operate and improve the Service.

11. No Warranty — "AS IS"

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY SHORT LINK WILL REMAIN ACCESSIBLE INDEFINITELY. The foregoing disclaimers do not affect any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you may have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL FORWRD, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE U.S. DOLLAR (US$1.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions the foregoing limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Forwrd and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (i) your use of the Service, (ii) any short link you create or destination you link to, (iii) your violation of these Terms, or (iv) your violation of any third-party right or applicable law.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States of America, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 15, the exclusive venue for any judicial proceeding shall be the state or federal courts located in Beaufort County, South Carolina, and you irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Where you are a consumer accessing the Service from outside the United States, this choice of law does not deprive you of any non-waivable consumer-protection right granted by the mandatory law of your country of residence.

15. Dispute Resolution & Class-Action Waiver

Except where prohibited by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in the State of South Carolina, and conducted in English. YOU AND FORWRD EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. The arbitrator, and not any court, has exclusive authority to resolve disputes about the interpretation, applicability, or enforceability of this Section.

16. Export, Sanctions & U.S. Compliance

You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or person subject to U.S. sanctions or export-control restrictions, and that you will not use the Service in violation of any U.S. export-control or sanctions law.

17. Abuse Reports & How We Handle Them

To report a short link that points to phishing, a fake form, malware, copyright-infringing content, or any other violation of Section 3, email abuse@forwrd.us with: (i) the offending short link (e.g. forwrd.us/abc123), (ii) a short description of the issue, (iii) any supporting evidence (screenshots, headers, the impersonated brand), and (iv) — for copyright claims — the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

Our handling pipeline:

  1. Acknowledgement — automated within minutes, including a reference ID.
  2. Triage — within 24 hours we classify the report (phishing / malware / IP / other) and check whether the destination is still live.
  3. Manual review — within 48 hours a human reviews the destination URL, the abuse-shield verdict, click history, and reporter evidence.
  4. Action — confirmed abuse: the short link is permanently disabled (returns a notice page), the owning account (if any) is suspended or terminated, and confirmed phishing data may be shared with safe-browsing and payment-fraud partners. False positives: the link is restored and the original creator notified if an account exists.
  5. Closure — the reporter receives an outcome email referencing the original ID. Repeat reporters and known partners (CERTs, registrars, brand-protection teams) are prioritised.

Imminent-harm reports (active phishing campaigns targeting specific institutions, child-safety issues) are escalated immediately and typically actioned within hours. We do not negotiate with the creators of disabled phishing or scam links; appeals must be submitted via the in-product "request review" flow on the block page.

18. Language & Translations

These Terms are drafted in the English language, and the English version is the sole authoritative and legally binding version. Any translated version that may be made available on the Service or elsewhere is provided solely for convenience and has no legal effect. In the event of any discrepancy, ambiguity, omission, or conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail and govern in all respects.

19. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Forwrd with respect to the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

20. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" above and, where they affect a paid plan, communicated by email at least 30 days in advance. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
